Need MVP Help!

Hi guys...I recently built a nice sage system for the house and have it set up as a server. I bought and installed an MVP but can't get the MVP past the product title scree. I have checked my server and I have a placeshifter/extender lisence, but still no luck. Any suggestions??

Do you have Sage enabled as a server? Is it enabled to allow a media extender to connect? Is it a wired or wireless MVP? Do you know if the MVP is getting a IP from a DHCP server?

Picking up the IP address is obviously key but I've also found that all the MVP's, Server, clients work best when working off the same switch.

I also read somewhere that the DHCP server needs to be on the sage server. My own findings seem to diagree with that though!

If you have a choice use a wired connection - never had much luck with anything other than Placshifter when wireless!

Does your SageTV server have more than one network card?

Tried all of that. It's a wred router, and It gives me a message that the placeshifter client tests successfuly, but still only the title screen of the extender.

did ja fix this? If not you might test by turning off your firewall(s). (For safety you might want to physically disconnect your router from the cable/dsl modem while you do this.) You might check to see if the router is open to all ports and not filtering. check the router firewall too, if it has one.
