No video - Just audio on HDPVR
Just when I thought I had my whole system working very well I started having blue-ray playback issues with PowerDVD. Well to make a long story short I don't have that fixed yet but in all of my mucking around when I try to play back video from the HDPVR I get the audio but no video on the server itself. Playback on clients or extenders works fine. I'm guessing this is a Codec issue but my attempts to fix it so far have failed.
Any thoughts? thanks Rob |

Have you tried changing between overlay, VMR and EVR. I always seem to settle on Overlay regardless of OS or Video card. Just seems to work better.
What do you have in the properties file. Examples: videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8) videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Video Decoder I personally hate Cyberlink now that I know how much better the Full version of TME is. ($40 and worth it.) |

NOt sure where you found TME for $40. About the cheapest I have found it is $70 at least for the version that can also play Blu-ray. Are you using it for blu-ray and how has it worked.
I am using EVR now and it works for both my analog tuners and for the HDHRs. It just won't play back content from the HDPVR anymore. |

$40 is the upgrade price. You need to go to the ArcSoft site and find TME. You will need to register you HD-PVR to get the key that lets you upgrade.
http://www.arcsoft.com/club/purchase...softwareID=180 The analog and HDHR use a different codec than h.264. You can not see what h.264 codec is being used in the GUI. You may need to reinstall Total Media Extreme. What OS are you using? Did you look in the Properties file for: videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter= |

I assume that non of these property setting have any effect on the Sage extenders - HD100 and HD200, and that its properties are part of its firmware?

videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8) Given the issues I have with the POS PowerDVD product I'm not surprised this is not working. What other decoder would you recommend that would work good with the HDPVR content? |

I typically just us the ArcSoft codec.
videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=ArcSoft Video Decoder I am trying the latest CoreAVC but it takes more CPU and I really have not noticed that it looks any better but that is probably because it looked really good before. My only real problem is that overlay is the only setting that seems to get rid of the tearing I get even on Vista. CoreAVC or any other codec has not helped with that so I think it is an ATI driver issue. |
