Please help - weird mpeg problem in Sage

OK, I am getting a really strange problem, had it on several recordings today. What happens is I get shows produced where when you play them, the time bar shows 30 minutes or an hour, but never moves and as soon as you hit skip fwd, Sage jumps to the end of the show. Some shows the bar moves but if you skip to 2/3 of the way thru the show the next skip jumps to the end. These shows, when played in WinAmp, show no progress bar either. They play fine though if you don't try to skip. In between I have shows that are totally normal.

My setup is a custom built PC (not just built, running for several months) with XP Pro and Sage, with comskip and comskip monitor and nielm's web server installed. It has an older dual tuner Hauppauge 500MCE card, with one input as analog and one as composite. The drivers are fairly recent though, or at least recently downloaded (~3 months ago). The machine also has a USB-UIRT used to tune two Scientific Atlanta cable boxes.

Please help! That sound you hear is the WAF dropping!
