Question about Recording Quality and HDHR
If it is my intention for SageTV to simply capture the transport stream from my HDHR, what should be selected when I go to: Setup Menu -> Detailed Setup -> Multimedia -> Recording Quality?
The reason I ask is that when recording, my CPU Utilization seems kind of high (40%) for a task that is simply capturing a data stream and writing it to disk. It seems as though my PC is doing some kind of encoding rather than just capturing the stream. Is there some other setting I need to check? Thanks... |

Well, there is something going on that I don't get then.
If I record a stream using STV (CPU Utilization about 35%) and then transfer this stream to another computer for viewing (since the recording computer does not have the required graphics horsepower), the file is unwatchable. However, if I record a stream using the HDHomerun_config utility (CPU Utilization about 30%) and then transfer that to the other computer, that file plays fine. Any ideas? |
