I tried everything I could think of to resolve the problem and never did. I ended up using a different PC: I moved the Hauppage cards, video card, and disk drive to another PC, reinstalled everything, and now it works. I'm lucky to have had another PC sitting around - but consider it a poor solution, when Sage's support didn't even try to help with the issue.
If you figure out what caused the problem, or how to solve it, let us know.

great--I'm already on pc #2 because of entirely different Sage problems with pc #1. Luckily my friend has 2 old pcs (#3 and #4?) that I can play with til I die of frustration poisoning.
