Issue with media files browsing in Client

I'm having a problem with long delays (complete with spinning circle and client unresponsive) while loading the thumbnails for my media files, but only on the client. I copied my thumbnails over from my server to my client, to check if that was causing the problem. I also renamed sagetv directory (the upper one) and reinstalled the client and was still getting the same issue.

SageTv Media Center and SageTv Client are both on decent hardware, gigabit ethernet wired connection between them, and both running Vista 32bit SP1.

I have the same drive letters for all drives (m: local for server, and m: network drive mapped for Client, etc)

SageTVTranscoder appears in the Windows Task Manager during these hangs, but doesn't use any CPU time (cpu 00) and then disappears. No new thumbnails are created.

It appears MKV files are causing an issue, but they generated thumbnails fine before, with version 6.4.8

Okay, returning to SageTV Client 6.4.8 doesn't fix the thumbnail issue, it just stops the client from locking up and spinning the one ring at me.

I can browse my media files without a problem, but thumbnails are not being generated. Same issue as before, SageTvTranscoder.exe appears in Task Manager Processes list, but with 00 CPU, and then after a while disappears.

If I copy my old thumbnails over, I start getting the spinning ring again.

Nevermind, found my own solution. Added SageTvService.exe to my windows firewall exception list. I'm not sure why just opening the ports wasn't enough, but apparently it wasn't... oh well. Everything is back to normal now.
