Free Girder version? Also help using USB-UIRT

Hi,
someone here said a couple of weeks back that girder was free, all I can find is a demo version which expires until you pay $20 for it?
Also just got my USB-UIRT today and wonder is anyone using it with Comcast and the Motorola 2244 digital cable box? Any advice?
Won't get to test it till Monday.
Patrick

Girder used to be free, if you can find v 3.2.9b that was the last free version and should work fine if you can find it somewhere.

So from what I have read here Girder should be able to change channels on Sage BUT I presume I will have to get it to learn the numbers from my Comcast remote control so that is can retransmit them to my cable box when Sage changes channels?
Also using one tuner card for all the low number cable channels and the composte in on a second card for the cable box, does Sage use the internal card tuners first BEFORE using the cable box OR does it not differentiate between either tuner and assigns totally by channel?

Your box is probably using the same IR codes that everybody else's DCT2xxx series boxes use.... my GML has all the codes (available on the page linked in my signature).

So a quick question, is Girder totally required to get the cable box to switch channels? And also with USB-UIRT setup, when I change channels on a tuner card and NOT on the card using the cable box, does UIRT still send a signal to the cable box or is it only when Sage needs the channel on that tuner card changed?
I did a little last night and have the Sage client changing channels etc locally. So my main inteest now is to get the cable box changing channels via Sage.

Ok, I am ready to setup girder BUT I am not sure how to get it to operate Sage and also switch my digital cable box. Do I disable USB-UIRT support in Sage and then assign Sage in girder just like StreamZap or any other IR receiver. After that will girder also send the remote signal to my cable box to switch channels? How will that work?
Don't want to screw anything up until someone here gives me some more concrete info.
Thanks
Patrick
