Iam lost USB-uirt

Ok i figured out most everything BUT still cant get the vip211K to change channels with the usb-uirt i thought it was a vip211 but its a vip211k model. I guess thats the latest verion of the 211.

I emailed tech support for the usb-uirt but i thought i would ask here too. I tried a few vip211 ir files i found by searching here but non have worked so far. I read something about the code is transmitted twice from a dish remote but not sure how that helps me. One guy said train it twice but gave no explanation on how to do so.



This is what i have. Win xp pro 2 Hauppauge 1600 cards plus 1 PVR-150 card. I have Dish-network vip 211 box plus an antenna to get over the air HD tv.

I have for a remote the Hauppauge 45 button (black one). I have the 2 1600 cards conected to only Over the air HD and the one Pvr-150 connected to the vip211 with S-video.

I uninstalled the PVR-150 and went through reinstalling the card Just the pvr-150. Not sure if i have to uninstall all cards or not. When i got to what kind of controler i chose the usb-uirt transciever. I train the numbers 0 threw 9 with the dish network remote BUT it doesnt ask about training my Hauppauge remote i have.Then set up dishnet and then channels to use . Then its done.

My Hauppauge remote of course doesnt work at all. So were do i go in the detailed setup to tell the usb-uirt to recieve or train the usb-uirt for my Hauppauge remote. I want to control sagetv with my Hauppauge remote and have the usb-uirt send IR codes to the vip211 box to change its channels for the PVR-150 card.

Someone else allready sent me his ir file for using with a vip211 box BUT i have no clue were to put this ir file and how to tell sagetv to use it. Plus iam not sure that will help with getting to be able to use my Hauppauge remote.

I was useing this remote with the hauppauge ir receiver before and it worked fine. Not sure how i get the usb-uirt to work with my hauppauge remote??

I have read everything i can find in the manual buts its not clear on how to do what i want. Very confused sage tv user here. Man getting sattelite tv has been a pain. It was easy with just over the air HD tv.

Ok i figured out how to get my remote working under commands section in detailed setup, But i still cant get the usb-uirt to change channels on my vip211 dish dishnetwork box. Another guy emailed his ir file and i want to try it but dont no how to install his ir file. Do i need to put it in a certain folder? or do i some how load it in sage. I have looked every were i can think of but still cant figure out how to load his ir file.

Oh how close does the usb-uirt have to be to the vip211 control box? A few inches, feet?

Just for anyone else that might have a problem getting there usb-uirt to work with a dish network vip211k i got an ir file from the guy who makes the usb-uirt and it works fine now. Not sure if i can attach the ir file for others but i will try to upload a zipped ir file if anyone else might need it.

I'm about to setup the USB-UIRT with the VIP211k as well (actually, two of them). Hopefully your efforts will make thing smoother for me.

What do you do with this file? Do you save it in a particular folder? Thanks.

There is a subdirectory \Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT under SageTV. You put the ir file there. You can then link the codes to your capture device when you set up the tuner.

Yepp thats it exactly. When i first got the usb-uirt i tried training it several times with no luck. The usb-uirt guy then sent me this file and it worked perfectly. Should work for you too. Good luck,

I am new to the Dish 211K/USB-UIRT camp. This thread helped me and got my system working. Thanks for posting the ir file.
