After each java update, you will have to re-install the Java library package (jars.zip) in the new Java/jre_x_y_z/lib/ext directory... This is because Java updates never copy your files over

See the installation instructions:
http://www.digicasa.com/prod_sagetv_plugin.htm

If you are running 2.2 or 3.0, you can also put these files in a JARS subdirectory of the SageTV directory, and you will never have to worry about them again...

anyone using this with sagetv 4.1? I'm thinking about trying it in order to get OTA HDTV listings that sage's native tv guide doesn't support. Also I'm in the US, would this be a problem?

I am using it for the current beta... works perfectly.

Although I think in the end it's getting the data from the same source as sage.

Digital OTA listings for Toronto

Does anyone know how to get tv guide listings, for the digital OTA stations in the Toronto area? Zap2it only lists CITY-HD.
Thanks

I'm using the digicasa/zap2it plugin, and after discovering that it doesn't play nice with proxies and getting it to download its info eventually, I'm having a different problem. I AM using the aggressive settting, yet almost every single episode of every single show is being marked as a first run, even shows that are completely syndicated such as seinfeld. Has anyone else esperienced this? I am using SageTV 2.2.8 with Cayars17 STV and the 1.20 version of the plugin. I have java 1.5.0_06 and have put all the jar files in the current directory. Also, what is the alternate version of the plugin for, automatic proxy handling? Here is my zap2itconfig.xml:

Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<properties>
  <!-- Set USERNAME to your username. -->
  <userName>******</userName>

  <!-- Set PASSWORD to your password. -->
  <password>*******</password>

  <!--
  Set NUMBER_OF_DAYS to number of days of data you wish to download
  -->
  <numberOfDays>13</numberOfDays>

  <!--
  Set RERUN_LOGIC to 'normal' or 'aggressive'. See readme for details.
  -->
  <rerunLogic>aggressive</rerunLogic>

  <!--
  Set MULTIPART_SHOW_LOGIC to 'normal' or 'makeunique'. See readme for details.
  -->
  <multipartShowLogic>normal</multipartShowLogic>

  <!--
  Modify the webservice URI if you need to access the service through
  a tunnel.
  -->
  <webserviceURI>http://datadirect.webservices.zap2it.com/tvlistings/xtvdService</webserviceURI>
</properties>
And here is my zap2it log:
Code:

SageTV v4.1.3 is a free upgrade with integrated support for Canadian listings. Why don't you give that a try?

Why not make life easy and simply disable automatic Java update?

Because I find sage 4 to be terribly ugly. The fact that it supports HDTV is awesome, if you have the hardware to do it (an HDTV card) and it's available in your area. For me the answer to both of those is no. The main thing I dislike about 4 is the HUGE on-screen progress bar during playback. There's no reason why it's so different from the one in version 2.

Well, I got it working. I removed all sources from sage, then made sure to quite sage AND stop the service, then I restarted and added a source, and it came out right. When I was having problems not only was everything a first run, but in the guide every single little icon in the cayars STV was showing up in the row above the listings, so something was seriously wrong I suppose.

2 sat feeds one source combining guides?

Is there a way to have 2 diff. sources. (dtv and dish network) on one source (I have it now so that is not really the question) and have both guides for them?

Does this project still work? I'm trying to use SageTV with the one channel I can get on my antenna while I'm waiting for satellite installation. I live in southern Ontario, Canada and can get City TV on channel 31. All I'm trying to do is get City TV listings.

I've followed the instructions at http://www.digicasa.com/prod_sagetv_plugin.htm and when I go to choose my type of program guide data provider, I choose "Local Broadcast (Over-The-Air)". This just gives me a blank list of my local broadcast market so there's nothing I can do there. If I choose cable/satellite instead I can indeed add a zip code of 00000, but then I get to the same blank list.

I don't seem to have a Zap2toit.log file at all. I've put the JARs in every directory I can think of, I've restarted my computer, and I can't get things working. I don't care about how it happens, but I do want to get my measly one channel listings in SageTV

Thank you very much,
- Andrew.

Post EPG empty on SageTV 6: tv tuner need to be installed first?

I ordered at PVR-150 yesterday and so there is no capture card yet installed on my XP machine.

But in anticipation, I installed the 15-day trial of SageTV (version 6) and followed the instructions at Digicasa but my local (Canadian) listings have not yet appeared after several hours.

In fact, no listings appear. Is that normal? Or do I need to have the TV tuner card installed first? I ask because the Digicasa explains the process of setting up the program guide (EPG) like this:
From SageTV main menu, choose Setup, then Setup Wizard. Select the tuner card you want to configure, choose the appropriate input (typically "TV Tuner") and select the appropriate tuning option. Select " Configure this Source with Programming Guide Data", then select the appropriate option. Enter 00000 as your zip code then press Enter.
Since I haven't yet seen the page described above, I assume that once the capture card (PVR-150) is installed, I will be able to see my local listings (assuming I have no trouble with firewall, etc.). Is that true?

Yup, once you have an installed tuner, then you can assign some programming guide data to it and see it in the EPG.

BTW: I believe you can still use this plugin, but SageTV's built-in EPG listings service include Canada.

I'm trying to figure out a way I can have two of the same lineups from the same postal code. Can I use this plugin along with the stock epg somehow?

I tried, but it looks like this plugin takes over all the epg service...

Yes it does take over the entire EPG functionality. There's no way (based on my current knowledge of the Sage EPG plugin architecture) to only do a partial takeover for some lineups whilst leaving other lineups with the standard EPG service.

Cheers
Lester

Yes its possible. First setup the SageTV EPG you want to use, shutdown Sage and then look for the disable_plugin setting in sage.properties for that EPG setup and set it to true.

Now install / activate your XMLTV setup and setup any tuner you want to use under the new XMLTV setup.

I use the SageTV EPG for my analog cable sources and use Stephanes XMLTV importer for my satellite sources.

Take a look at the Announcements section. There's a post about the DST fixes you need for Windows and Java.
