Need Video help.. which do I choose?

Under Video Decoder, I see the following choices:
- Default
- ATI MPEG Video Decoder
- Cyberlink video/sp decoder (pdvd8)
- intervideo noncss video decoder for hauppauge
- sagetv mpeg video decoder

Then under video renderer:
- Default
- video overlay renderer
- directx9 video mixing renderer (VMR9)

How do I know which to choose and what is the difference?

Thanks in advance..

For best picture with an ATI card and and sufficently powered CPU and memory go with VMR9 and try the ATI Mpeg video decoder (specifically designed to take advantage of your ATI card) or the Cyberlink PVDVD 8 which should also take advantage of the hardware of your card. The same choices should work well under DVD in the Detailed Settings.
