Hauppauge IR blaster does not work...HELP...
Hello everybody. I bought a couple of days the Hauppauge HD PVR. It comes with the Hauppauge remote control with the IR blaster. Unfortunately, I am absolutly unable to make to change my cable box. The blaster Config seems to be unusable. I am with videotron, here in canada, and my cable box is the Scientific Explorer 8300 HD. According to that program, the right codeSet should be 0074, but it does not work, and neither any code...The IR blaster flash red, so I know the installation is fine... In addition, the learn mode does not work. Everytime, it tells me: Remote does not appear to support Toggle bit retry I really do not know what to do next...I would really appreciate any suggestions to make this thing working. Thanks very much in advance, Philippe |

Hello again,
If I buy the USB-UIRT, should I be able to use my Hauppauge remote control to change channels on my cable box? Thanks, Philippe |

I just went through this...
My problem, believe it or not, was that the IR wasn't positioned properly.
I have used many IR blasters before, all were "stick shaped" like the stock TiVo blaster, and most others you'd buy. The hauppauge stick-on model actually has the IR transmitting through the STICKY SIDE of the TAPE (it's clear tape)... So turn that sucker around, make sure it's stuck DIRECTLY over the IR Receiver, make sure you right-click the BlastCFG and "Run as Administrator"...and you're in business. Note that the "WINTV Remote Controller" that runs in the system tray is used to RECEIVE commands from your Hauppauge remote and push them into the PC via USB, and you then configure Sage to listen for this signal and navigate around the Sage UI. Is that part working for you? Cheers |

Thanks very much for your help.
I made this thing working yesterday, and like you,it was because the IR was not positioned properly. I really had to try many differents places around... Cheers |

Samsung SMT-H3260 IR blaster code
Cable box failed today for Time Warner. The new one is a Samsung SMT-H3260. Using an HD PVR and the Blaster Config tool I had a hard time finding a CodeSet that worked with the H3260. Finally CodeSet 123 from Vendor ABC on Cable Box device type worked for me.
