faulty nova-s usb 2 ...?

I have Nova-S usb2 tune problems.
Tuning does not find any channels.
I've used the separate hauppage signal strenght tester but it does not find

any device - (so I'm not sure that app it is usable with the nova)

I do have a good signal that works fine with another pci dvb-s card (k-world) that I

have experimented with. I've tried the nova on three sperate machines

without success.

I run the card along side a hauppauge pvr 150.

With Wintv 7 - in the configuration I select the dvb-s device from the list

(its the only offering) and it automatically sets the lof settings. I then

scan but after 10 minutes it stops the scan and has found no channels.
I've also used the wizard which does the same thing.

I'm using XP.

Have I a faulty device. is there anything else I can try.

This to me indicates the card is faulty, especially if you got channels after a scan with your k-world card.

my mate had one of those cards with the same symptoms. It looked like it worked, was detected, even the i/r worked but it would not pick up any signal, tried it on 3 pcs as I could not believe it was faulty being as it seemed so functional.
