SageTV and PowerDVD Codecs HELP!

I am trying to use my PowerDVD8 codecs with SageTV for all of my audio decoding needs.

When I watch a DVD or media file through PowerDVD I get the desired results.

When I use Graph Edit the default graph shows everything being passed through the PowerDVD codecs and playback through Graph Edit gives desired results.

When I play the same file through SageTV that I just played through Graph Edit I am only getting stereo sound not 5.1.

I have Sage configured to use the PowerDVD8 Codecs and I have tried every audio renderer available in Sage with no change in results.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Use AC3Filter instead, and configure AC3Filter to pass through AC3/DTS using SPDIF (outside of Sage in ac3config.exe).

I've used AC3Filter before and I didn't really care for it.

I'm now using a Creative X-FI Titanium Pro Series audio card instead of my crappy onboard Realtek chipset. This card supports Dolby Live Encoding as a hardware solution rather than a software solution. I'd much ratherly use the features of this card than revert back to AC3Filter.

Also, as a side note, since i've installed this Creative card and enabled my DDL feature my HD-PVR has become MUCH more reliable so I really don't want to go back to AC3Filter.

I'm sure there's just a setting that needs to be added to the registry or possibly something revised in the way Sage utilizes the filter.

Sorry! Did not realize that you are trying to get DDL working on stereo tracks.
In that case, AC3Filter is not for you.

Took me a long time to figure this one out, so I know how frustrating it is. If you read the instructions in this post it'll give you the answers you are looking for

That is exactly what I needed!

5.1 audio is now working perfectly for my DVD's, Video files, and HD recorded television!

Thank You so much!

Considering the amount of grief this seems to cause people as I've found a couple other posts like mine in my searching, it would be great if the forum monitors could add this information to the FAQ as I did review that when I first setup my Sage installation and it would have been really helpful at that time.

Agreed, it would be useful if it was a little easier to find, I searched long and hard and actually stumbled across it researching something else in the end if I remember correctly.

So for the purpose of making this thread with its link actually get returned in search results it includes 5.1 or 5 channel + Dolby + PowerDVD + Cyberlink + Decoder + Sage + Surround but not 2.1 or stereo
