Pinnacle Show Center

I have been using SageTV (curr vers 6.3) for a few years and find it to be an awesome and easy to us application. I am using a USB Plextor TV 402U for my tuner/capture.

This has worked very well for me. A few years ago I purchased (2) Pinnacle Show Centers. My intention was to use these boxes to network to two of our TV's up stairs directly from my saved programs on my PC without having to burn DVD's. I have (direct wired) network in place and my house is completely pre wired with Cat5 / coax. Cable modem to Linksys BEFSR81 8 port router switch to patch panel in a media closet then out to user locations.

I found Pinnacle's software to be very troublesome and as I am "newbie" at trying to network mutlmedia, I was just left with two pieces of equipment I could not effectively use.

I have been reading about some people using the Show Center (without Pinnacle's buggy software) to network media. Is it possible and straight forward (keeping my newbie status in mind) to utilize the Pinnacle Show Center in a network fashion with SageTV. I am trying not purchase new equipment.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

Not that I have read.

You can probably get a couple of Hauppauge MVPs quite cheaply, they work well with SageTV.

Good luck.

I did see sometime ago, a reply to a similar question.

The reply hinted at someone who had got sage to work with the showcenter.

But who was it?

Because i cannot find that post now.

I have 2 showcentres just lying around... and i would like to use them.

Come on....Someone knows........

The only problem is that you would have to write your own webserver that interfaces with Sage to give the Sage UI (and access to the guide, sheduling etc) on the ShowCenter (for more information see http://openshowcenter.sf.net/ : nothing do do with sage, but it shows what might be possible)
