I just ordered three RCA DRD435RH's from OrbitSat for $19.95 each (!), brand new. The DRD435H has an optical digital output and a low speed data port that SHOULD work.

I will let you know if the Sage serial control works, I should have them in the next few days.

If anyone else has experience with this receiver with Sage control, please let me know.

Thanks!

Well, on my end, only that OrbitSat took forever to ship the units, and were totally unresponsive for a few days.

Then today, the boxes were on the UPS truck to me, but got returned because they needed a "correct address". So OrbitSat apparently screwed that up also.

I should have the 435's by tonight (picking them up), and will try them out. That said, I have seen the model listed as successfully working with both IR and serial control, so I'm not worried. And despite OrbitSat's problems, the price was still right.

My concern with that model number is it has a digital output, but not a Dolby Digital output.

yeah I'm peeved at orbitsat too...

They are totally unresponsive to ANYTHING!!!! I had a question for them, about this contract but I've been unable to get a human all day. As soon as I get a human I'm cancelling my order and just gonna pay more somewhere else... its just not my style to deal with a company that is THAT bad with customers, and support!!

So I'd really watch this company.. I'm sure they are a legit company, but they must be run by 1 person that does everything. If you stay on hold to talk to them they disconnect you after a few minutes to keep from running up there 1800 number.
