Sage Crashing
Just rescently did a full reinstall of both the OS and SageTV and now I have funny issue.
Randomly, when I either press STOP to end a video (in .vob format) or press PLAY to start a video (also in .vob format), sage just closes and I see windows. If I start Sage up again the video plays fine Last edited by vexhold; 01-05-2009 at 11:19 PM. |

What version of SageTV is this?
Make sure you are running a default setup w/o any customizations and enable debug logging. - Andy

Not sure if this will help you at all...
I was having a similar issue right after I installed Sage a month or so ago. I would click 'play' or 'stop' and occasionally Sage would crash and close. There was nothing in Windows event viewer. This would probably happen once every day or two. I went into Setup/Detailed/Video-audio and turned off 'Uses DXVA hardware acceleration' and the problem went away. Sage has not crashed since. I am aware that this probably points to a video card driver issue, but I am running the latest drivers I could find. With DXVA disabled, the video still plays very smoothly and the temp of the GPU is way down. A downside is that if I watch a HD show at the PC, CPU usage is 25% or so, but since I usually watch stuff at the TV through an extender, this is not an issue for me. Sage has been 100% reliable since I disabled DXVA. Good luck.
