Anyone get standalone to work with an Active Directory domain?

I see on the latest beta HD200 firmware you can now plug in a username/password to access a network share.
I don't know if this is supposed to work with Active Directory, but I've tried the following:

Username: MyDOMAIN\USERNAME
Password: Password

Username: my.fully.qualified.domain.name\username
Password: password

If I enable the guest account and grant read privileges, should this work?

Thanks!

I don't have a HD200... but you could also try the fully qualified domain name in the following format...
username@domainname
i.e. john@homedomain or john@homedomain.org

This format works accessing shares using non-domain PCs on the domain. Maybe it will work for the HD200.

Also make sure you put the domain name for the workgroup name in the detailed setup.

Did you ever get this to work? And how the heck can you enter a \ with the remote?

I'm about ready to heave this thing through the window.

getting windows AD and HD200 to work

ok...well after a few hours of messing with my new HD200 i manage to get it to work on my domain. Here is what i had to do :

1)enable guest account on domain and on host where the share reside.
2)set both guest account password to "blank"..meaning set it empty
3)Modify the default domain policy or create a new one

gdedit.msc > then browse to > "computer configuration">"security settings">"Local Policies">"security options" then
enable "accounts:Guest account status"
and set "network access: share and security model for local account"

go to "user rights assignments" and
add "guest" account to the list

4) now set your permission on the share that holds your media files and add "guest" account set at "read only" .

5) run "gpupdate /force" on server and host with share or simply reboot the systems .

6)power up your HD200 and let it settle down a few seconds searching the network for shares. Now try accessing the share and it should work without giving you that dreaded "invalid directory" error....

Now if only I could find a solution to the cause of why my unit locks up so often....yes i have the most recent firmware .....
