Flicker

When watching news channels where there is text imposed on the bottom of the screen I notice a flicker of the imbedded background color and text (e.g. cable news programs). I also see a similar flicker in very white parts of the TV screen on occasion. I only notice this when watching live TV (I haven't recorded any of the news broadcasts).

Some settings:

• Video renderer - overlay
  MPEG2 video decoder filter - SageTV MPEG video decoder
  DXVA hardware acceleration - No
  Under detailed setup / REcording quality - all 3 tuners are set to "Best" @ 3GB/hour

Any suggestions to get rid of this flicker? Sage is on a dedicated server with no video card.

I know you're not using an HD-PVR but I had the same problems until the last couple of beta MpegDeMux files and the last STV beta before the current RC. I can't tell you exactly which cured my problems but no more flicker.

TallMomo - I appreciate your feedback but I really think my problem is related to configurations in my PVR cards or sage settings for watching live TV w/ these analog cards. I'm hoping someone else using these same analog cards has experienced a similar problem.

If the word "flicker" doesn't accurately describe the problem, its kind of like watching a digital camera trying to auto focus in low light.
