possibly reproducible crash / hang
I'm going to file a bug report too, but FYI in case anyone else is hitting this.
A few times (at least once in each beta) my system has completely locked up and I have to hit the reset button. It always happens right on the hour, presumably when SageTV is closing one file and opening another. The last two times it happened I noticed a pattern, I was watching a show I previously recorded and was skipping through a commercial at the time when it locked up. I don't know if this is 100% reproducible (and don't want to crash my machine anymore to test) but its something to consider. I'm guessing there's some kind of race condition which occurs when opening a new file and processing a user event at the same time. Using a PVR 350, in case it matters. |

This is a known bug....the "end-of-file" bug...know by users anyway. I've bugged it in 2.0.12. I haven't had it in 2.0.13. I have changed a few things though. What is your setup? Do you have a network encoder? What is your software decoder and audio deoder set for?

System is
MIS K7N420 mobo (nForce 1) Athlon XP 1700+ 512MB RAM using integrated network, audio, graphics Hauppauge PVR 350 for TV Out and OSD InterVideo decoder for audio and video I suspected this was the "end of file" bug. I thought it was significant that it seems reproducible if sending events while the hour changes. Might be a hint for tracking it down. |

Lets be clear, its a known bug for some people. It does not happen to everyone.
