This is a jewel of a program at a great price.
User interface is intuitive. Great navigation. Frame accurate cuts without re-encoding the file. Cuts/Joins. File output is FAST!!!!! Lots of other features you can check out at http://www.videoredo.com . There's a 21 free-trial available. |

Thank you a bunch.
I have gone blind trying to choose an app for basic direct mpeg editing. Everything I have tried introduces quality problems, most notably fast action hesitation. None of them seem to respect the GOP. I have spent an afternoon with this program and love it. The pq is perfect so far. It does all of its work while you are running sage and it's very fast. The only sage related issue so far is that the times displayed in sage navigation are way off. 3 movies so far each show a total of about 20 minutes and my 5 sec ff takes me 60 sec forward. I think I have read about this header issue. But who cares, I'm as happy as a pig in shit. thanx again. |

I agree. I find this program simple to use, and very powerful for the price. Great for use with MovieStudio2 also. I'm trialing right now, but I'm going to but it before it runs out...20% off right now for PayPal users.

I've been using it too and find it better/faster then Whomble. I've been using it on some extreme mpeg2 with all kinds of stream/program types with CBR & VBR across the board and this product JUST WORKS!
You can't find a better price for a commercial product either. Carlo |

I think I have discovered that this is a sage file handling problem. I read another thread that discusses fixing the problem by renaming the file. I won't go into the details here but am satisfied to wait until the beta gets a bit more stable.
I have edited and copied about 6 programs to dvd and they all are just about perfect. We are really onto something here. |

Say, Priority -
I just tried d/ling the trial version and got: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /VideoReDo/Installs/InstallVideoReDo-1-5-0-200.exe on this server. Are there firewall issues or something going on? So sad! Rob |

I've been testing this program for quite a while. The features are fantastic for the price. It works quite well for editing PV-x50 mpeg outputs. It also does not have any audio sync issues that are found in other editing solutions. I have also susceeded in using the output to create DVD's - again without any sync audio issues.
The program's author also REALLY supports the program [much like jeff]. RRussell if you continue to have a problem Dl'ing the program reply here or PM me and I will ask the author whats up... -Stan |

I just have to post to agree. In the past I was very disheartened when I was unable to edit recordings made by my PVR 250 without significant audio sync errors. When I heard about Video ReDo I immediately downloaded a trial and edited a recording I had made of an old family vhs tape. It worked fast, the controls made sense, and the resulting file had no audio sync problems! I then went back and paid the $40 (an excellent price). Since then I have edited all of the saved recordings I have (movies) to trim the start and end point and remove the commercials. I've watched several of them since then and can report that the resulting video was excellent. One piece of information I couldn't find on the web site was what the upgrade policy was. I sent an email to the support email address and got a quick reply - free upgrades for 1.x and the policy/price for upgrading to 2.x was unknown, but it was expected that there would be a price break over new purchases of 2.x. Sounds good to me! I can't tell you how happy I am to find this program. It is helping me to realize my dream of creating a library of movies - both recorded and home videos.

Thanks for the offer. I sent a note to the sales address when I received the trial key, too. I'll try downloading from home instead of work (shh don't tell the boss!) and see if I have better luck. I'm really looking forward to trying this program! R |

Quick update - I was able to download it from home, so whatever happened, even if it's a bug, I don't care no mo'!
![]() ![]() WOW, am I ever impressed with this program. Even across a network, it outperformed everything else I've seen by a huge margin. Great job! I was able to de-commercialize three shows last night in about fifteen minutes, which just floored me. And without reading any of those pesky manuals, either ![]() I particularly enjoy the button to "reverse" the clipped selection, so that on my 1st time through, when I cut-out the program segments instead of commercials by mistake, I didn't lose any time at all. I am off to give someone some money now. What a great program. <wanders away mumbling appreciatively...> |

I normally edit out the commercials with TMPGEnc DVD author before burning mpegs to DVDR. But once in a while, there is a problem with the recorded mpeg, and DVD author would have trouble with the audio. I've tried to rip out the audio with various programs like virtualdubmpeg/virtualdubmod, and dvd2avi, and then put them together with DVD author again. Problem was, sometimes the audio would be slightly out of sync. And even with sound editing, getting perfect sync is very difficult.
Well, yesterday I tried out VideoReDo with one of the problematic mpegs and it worked. I just edit out the commercials in that mpeg & saved it, and DVD author no longer had problems with the audio. Very cool product. |

What program are you all using to go from mpeg with commercials cut -> DVD format (assume you don't record in native DVD format, and just use mpeg max quality).

I was just going to ask that. I'm currently using Roxio DVD Builder, but I don't care for its restrictions on title menus.
Suggestions? |
