Placeshifter Login Troubles

I can connect to the server without being prompted for a password just fine on the local network. Externally I am getting the password prompt but it will not accept my password. It says it is incorrect and I know I have it correct. I have even tried to change the password. Any clues?

Locator ID finds it as well.

When this happens to me, it's usually because I typed too fast and keystrokes got dropped. Try typing the password really slowly, waiting for each star to appear before typing the next character.

No, that's not it. I have tried many times. I thought it was because of a version conflict. Had Placeshifter 6.4.8 and Server 6.5.2 but now upgraded Placeshifter to match server. I have tried from different client computers as well.

Are you sure you don't have the user name wrong? Could be the password is right but you missed something simple in the user name.

Only other solution I have is to delete that entry and create it again, paying careful attantion to capitols and spaces.

Just to add a +1 to this: both the username and the password are case-sensitive. Took me several tries when I first set up my placeshifter server before I realized this.

For testing purposes, you could also set the LAN to require a password as well (see this thread). Obviously, you don't want to run like that all the time, but it may make it easier to track down the issue.

I am positive that everything is case sensitively correct. The name I am using is my name, so I know I got it correct. I tried adding another login, no go. I have not tried to authenticate locally yet. I know that if I can log in locally it would be a networking/firewall issue. Let's say that is the case because I bet it will be. What then?

Is anyone else on 6.5.2 beta that has Placeshifter working or can try it for me? Thanks.

Windows firewall in Vista
Webserver works fine internal and external.

OK. I think I have narrowed down the problem.

sainswor99 offered to help and I was just about to take him up on it when I discovered the following. BTW, thanks Stu.

I created an new ID for him to attempt to login with. (all lowercase) And I just went to try it to make sure it did not work for me and low and behold it worked. That got me thinking, my ID had 1 capital letter in it so I tried it all lowercase. No go. Then I tried something other than the 2 logins I have been having trouble with. Low and behold, that worked. So I have 2 login names that do not work.

That lead me to believe that when I upgraded from XP to Vista I recreated the same login names and copied over the wiz.bin file. It has something to do with that. It does not like the same IDs from the old setup.
