Exclamation Where does SageTV write the currently being viewed TV file?

I'm using an SSD drive as my boot drive. I have specified a traditional hard drive (T:\) for SageTV recordings.

Both analog and digital recordings stutter, so I am thinking that SageTV writes currently viewing TV to the C:\ drive rather than the specified directory (T:\ in my case).

Can someone tell me if this is true and if there's a way to change it? I *REALLY* like the SSD drive if for no other reason than resume from Standby takes about 2 seconds (because you don't have to wait for a hard drive to spin up).

Thanks!

All recordings are stored in the recording directories, as defined in Detailed Setup -> General -> Video Recording Directories.

You can look at the detailed info screen for a recording to see the location of the file.

BTW: If the recording directory isn't formatted using 64K clusters, stutter is more likely to happen.

Eh, my cluster size is whatever is default for a 1TB Dyanmic Disk. I'll probably have to re-do that.

I just wanted to double-check since when I set up a test system with Sage (on an 80GB drive), I didn't get any stuttering, but now that I set up a production system (with the SSD and 2 x 1TB WD Green Power drives), I am.

EDIT: By the way, I am asking about the live TV buffer, not a recorded show, just to be clear. My specified recording drive is T:\SAGETVPVR.

There is no separate live TV buffer. All shows are recorded to individual files in your designated recording directory, including shows that you watch live. Live TV in Sage is just a recording that's being played back at the same time as it's recording and is subject to auto-deletion when playback finishes. Apart from that, there's no difference between live TV and recordings.

Thank you for the answers. This is what I assumed, but it's always better to be sure.
