Lightbulb SageTV User Conference

Has SageTV ever had a user conference? I have searched and have not found any. I think this would be an excellent idea. I would be willing to do some leg work if it was decided to do it in the New York city area.

A related idea would be User Groups in larger cities that meet on an infrequent basis.

Both of these sound like great ideas to me. I would also be willing to put in some time and do some grunt work if someone with greater leadership abilities and organizational skills than myself could get a plan together.

I live in Gainesville, FL, which is a relatively small college town, but I'm within 2 hrs of three major cities (Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando).

I'm in central NJ, so I'm in for something in the city or PA, MD, NJ. I'll drive a few hours for a decent sized get together.

I'll be in NY for the holidays. I'll bring the HDHR and ethernet cable, someone bring an HDTV, and a SageTV server. Party!

This thread has given me an idea... perhaps the mods could start some sort of "Local area discussion" forum, with separate threads for separate cities/places? That way, people from a certain area could start a thread for their city/locality (sorta like the AVS Forum threads for each city here
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=45 ).... but this would be specifically for SageTV. Within those threads, people could discuss local issues (local cable company service, local OTA reception issues, etc.), possibly suggest local "conferences", and maybe there could be "stickys" at the top when someone wanted to organize a conference so that people in other areas could see it, if they were interested in traveling.

Hey Andy, how complicated is it to add a separate "sub-forum" (perhaps under "General Discussion")?

Interested parties could also just start a new thread in the general area.
