ArcSoft Audio Effect HD
After installing ArcSoft on my clients to play h.264 files graphedit now shows my audio going thru the "ArcSoft Audio Effect HD" filter and one of my clients shows it going thu this one and also "ArcSoft Audio Effect HD 0001" before it gets to the AC3 filter and then to the default direct sound device. Is this ArcSoft audio filter required? Can it be unregistered and everything else work ok?

I had a different problem but the soultion to my problem should also work for your problem with ArcSoft audio filters. Read the last 5 or 6 posts.

Thanks! Actually I have no problem with sound as far as SPDIF pass thru. My problem is my video playback is not smooth on the clients that I have installed ArcSoft on, I am trying to eliminate anything that could be causing a problem like an extra ArcSoft audio filter. I believe that installing TME and TMT causes problems with mpeg2 playback (not h.264 playback). Playback of Tv recording in MPEG2 is smooth before installing the ArcSoft stuff but not after. FYI I am running Win XP Pro SP 3. I wanted to know if eliminating the "ArcSoft Audio Effect HD" completely say by unregistering it with radlight filter manager or setting the merit lower would cause a problem?

This sounds familiar, i had the same problem....yes it possible the audio that is causing the problem. My suggestion is make mpeg2 filters that you were using before as default and only specify arcsoft in the properties file for AAC and H.264.
I think i also removed or disabled all the arcsoft audio decoders except the "normal" one.

merit
If you are using Vista - using the MS MPEG/DD Decoder one more thing to add, you can force the MS decoder (or anyother one) for AC3 by changing (or adding) videoframe/ac3_audio_decoder_filter=Microsoft MPEG-1/DD Audio Decoder to the properties file. |

The principal is the same, just substitute AC3Filter for MS MPEG/DD Audio Decoder.
