Setting 1080i with vista and XP?

How do I set 1080i?

The way I have understood 1080i is that it is basically 540p but it is doubled up. My monitor is capable of 1080i but I have run it at 720p for ever as I never figured I could run it at a higher resolution.

Generally you set your video card to 1920x1080@ 30Hz
