My EVR results - nVidia vs. ATI
Upgraded Sage to 6.5.1 today to try out EVR. Here are my results:
Rig #1 - nVidia 8800GTS 512, 180.43 drivers: Pass. EVR is working perfectly using Cyberlink PDVD8 codec. It finally fixed my lurching phantom frame problems with CBS-HD content! Rig #2 - ATI Radeon X1300Pro, Catalyst 8.11: Fail. EVR does not work; video plays, but the Sage overlays appear pastel blue and horribly corrupt the video. You can see clear frames briefly when stopping the video. VMR9 mode works, so I'm using that for now. Rig #2 - ATI Radeon 2400Pro, Catalyst 8.11: Epic Fail. EVR does not work, same problem as the X1300. VMR9 mode broken; Sage reports that it is unable to display the video content, regardless of codec selected. I can only get video to play by using Overlay. Anyone have success with EVR on an ATI card?

Hi GT,
Are you getting DXVA? I too am getting smooth playback with EVR but no DXVA. I guess I will try the beta nvidia drivers you are using. I am not holding out much hope, but what the heck. TIA Jesse

EVR with the latest fixes seems to work fine with DXVA1/2 on my Vista x64 and Radeon 3870. Both MPEG2 and H.264 playback use less than 10% CPU on my C2D E6550.

Ditto with my 2600XT. I have not tried anything with the HD2400 Pro yet. Been too busy.

Looks like DXVA is working; 1080i content is using ~5% CPU. I do have a problem with aspect ratios not working on 4:3 content (on a 4:3 monitor). I get black bars around all 4 corners of the video. If I select Fill mode instead of source, I get vertical black bars on the left and right sides of the video.
