No sound when playing a DVD
I just installed version 2.0 and it seems to work great except for when playing DVDs. I get a picture OK but no sound. I do get sound when watching TV and recorded programs. I have played around with the various settings in Detailed Setup/General Options screens for Video, Audio, and DVD, but have had no luck in getting sound. The codecs listed include "InterVideo Video Codec" and "Intervideo NonCSS Video Codec for Hauppauge"
I have Intervideo WinDVD installed on my PC, which works fine playing DVDs. Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so how did you solve it? Is there a particular codec that I need? Is there a particular combination of settings that I need to set? |

Look at your Audio renderer and make sure it is not set for default. Try Default Directsound or Default Wave out. Use you Intervideo decoders for DVD, not the one from Hauppauge. Hauppauge will not work on encrypted DVD's. See if that helps. Make sure your WinDVD player is not set to use SPDIF.

The Intervideo Audio Codec (not NonCSS) should work fine.
You might also want to look here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...78#post2240078 WinDVD codecs are notorious for not playing nice by themselves (they don't save their settings). |
