Lost my sound on OTA HD

So I go to play one of my OTA recordings and low and behold--no sound!?! Using Gspot I see its an AC3 so I reinstalled an AC3 filter--no luck--then I tried it in WMP--and no sound. The last thing I remember doing was swapping my quartz.dll file from 9b to 9c--of course I have re-installed directx and that didn't help either--What happened to my AC3 and how do I get it back?????

Just to be clear--the recording did work but now doesn't--this is a fresh install with an hauppauge 250, hvr-1600 onboard realtek high def audio p4 2.8 with 3GB ram
