Compro E650 and SageTV

Does SageTV support compro e650 on xp? I want to buy it but dont want to waste my money. Compro E650 uses software encoding. If it does how do i get it to work, i cant get it to work with the trial version. It scans all the channels but throw different errors each time i try to watch them.

Geez, the only thing more useless than your applications is your support.

I don't know how you got the impression this forum is for support. There are statements in several places that this is a user to user forum. If you are looking for support, contact SageTV via the support request form.

But, it appears from your statement that the thing you are asking about is a software encoder, which is not recommended by almost every user, and it either doesn't work with SageTV or you don't have the decoders to play its recordings. See the list of supported tuners on the SageTV requirements page.

Replies to Support can take up to 72 hours. Says so on the form you just filled out. If you're looking for supported software encoder tuners a link was posted right above your last reply.

Quote:
Supported TV Tuners with Software Encoding (requires SageTV V5 or later):

Windows
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-950Q
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1250
Plextor AV100U
Plextor TV100U
Most other WDM capture devices should work with Version 5 or later but have not yet been tested. The above list will be updated as other cards are tested. If you have tested a specific card that is not listed, please report your findings to us at support@sagetv.com.
I'm not sure why you insist on using a tuner that for the most part no one would even try using in Sage. You are going to want a tuner that does hardware encoding. You won't be happy with a software encoder. Search the forums and read the results.
