multiple hd pvrs
Hi Guys, I just got my 2nd HD PVR and am having trouble with the IR Blasters. When I only had one HD PVR hooked up the IR Blaster worked great, but now that 2 are connected neither one tunes my DirecTV receivers. Does anyone have any information about this?
thanks, Aaron |

The Hauppauge IR software cannot make use of multiple IR receivers/blasters. You should use a USB-UIRT instead, or look into firewire or serial control of the box.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply. I will double check, but I am pretty sure there is no serial control available for my boxes. Also they both use the same IR codes and there seems to be no way to switch one of them. Maybe I can call DTV and ask for another receiver. Can I use the blaster on one PVR and my USB IR blaster on the other?

Which DirecTV receivers do you have? Do you have serial ports in your computer?

Check these out:
http://www.patersontech.com/products...ranslator.aspx You can then get a two or four port serial card if needed. EDIT: If you search thru this forum you'll find places to buy cables to make the translators yourself.

You can also use the USB-UIRT to send out 3 separate IR signals to 2 external IR emitters and one from the main unit itself.
