Does video and sound card matter for the server?

Would it really matter if I just used a 9200 or 9000 in a server vs a 9500 or 9600 in PQ on the client end?

The same question is for sound, would there be a difference in SQ in SC97 vs a Santa cruz.

The client would be using a 9000 and Santa cruz.

If you don't watch TV directly on the server then it doesn't matter at all! I wouldn't even waste the money on a Radeon unless you have one to spare. That is, unless you will sometimes watch TV on the server directly. For instance, my server is also responsible for playback in the study, and so I didn't go dirt cheap.

You don't need anything special on the server. I ran my server without soundcard and with no MPEG codecs installed for a long time. Unless you plan on watching something on the server, I'd go with the cheapest possible.
