PowerDVD8 and sage M2TS AVCHD playback

Greetings all,

I just upgraded to PDVD8 Ultra, and I have verified that the PDVD8 software is working properly, it plays BD sources, extracted BD streams, AVCHD clips, and via Directshow in sage, can play back MPEG2 video properly. Sage should be using PDVD8 for its H.264 decoder, as specified in my sage.properties file.

When I try to play back an AVCHD clip, I get an error:

There was a playback error in playback. Details:
sage.playbackexception: error (-4,0x8004022f) there was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback.

When I try to play streams backed up from a BD-ROM, I simply get the "working" icon animation forever.

This all worked with PDVD7.6 Ultra BD OEM. I had to upgrade because of an unfixed problem in PDVD7's AVCHD playback (macroblock trails and visual distortions).

I did boost cyberlink h.264 decoder merit trying to fix a problem earlier...
