Sage Encounters Error and Shuts Down

Sage consistently encounters an error whenever I'm watching a show while it is being recorded. For example, I setup ESPN to record the game last night. An hour or so into the recording, I started watching the game to get caught up. But when I hit the stop button I get a Windows error message saying that SageTV.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. This happens every time, but only on the NTSC feed of my HVR-1600.

If I'm just watching a show on the NTSC tuner and not recording it, I don't get this error message. It seems to be only when I'm recording and watching at the same time and then only when I hit the stop button. I tested the ATSC tuner for the same problem and it seems to be ok.

I'm currently running Sage 6.4.8 with a single HVR-1600 card. Any ideas?

There is no way in Sage to watch without recording. The only difference between Live TV and a scheduled recording that you watch in real time is that Live TV files get auto-deleted sooner.

In any case, your best bet is to enable debug logging and see what the logs say about your crash.

You may also want to consider running Sage in service mode so that if the UI crashes, you don't lose any recordings.

And of course if you're running any plugins or custom UI mods, try it with the unmodified stock UI to see if that makes a difference.
