Favorites: limit to multiple days?

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this...but here goes.

When you setup a favorite in the advanced options you can select 1 day of the week. I would like to be able to select mon, tues, wed, thurs and friday... because some of the news shows Repeat on Sat and Sunday. So on the day of the week is it possible in a future release to be able to choose more than 1 day as we currently do with channels?

I am not sure if this is a core change or STV change.

That's not part of the hidden extras, so I moved it out of that topic.

SageTV does not currently support limiting a Favorite to multiple days.

You could create separate Favs, each limited to a single day, but that would get unwieldy for M-F.

I'm guessing that the shows do not have unique episode ShowIDs, or else they wouldn't be getting recorded again on the weekend if the show is already recorded or watched.

I second that, have a favourite set to record a program which is on BBC1 every day during the week but on a Sunday they have the omnibus which is a repeat of every show from the week back to back. The omnibus is always recorded as it is on the same channel. The above options would be good or at least weekdays or weekend option.

I will trippple that request - which I was going to post. I record a program that appears twice a day (1230-130pm; 10-11pm) - to get that to work, so I would only record the show once a day, was to say under the advanced record options "Limit to hour: 12-1pm".

That worked but then, yes, they show repeats on the weekends of course - two of which repeats happen both days from 12-1pm.

So part of this request, as stated like the channels, when selecting the days there should be a way to toggle each day desired instead of "one day" alone. Also I am very surprised at the very least that "Weekday" and "Weekend" are not two options available.

My old Mitsubishi VCR actually had not only "Weekday (M-F)" and "Weekend" but they had "Monday to Saturday". The reason is that if the show starts at 1AM it is really Tuesday to Saturday. But being able to select multiple individual days would help with this scenario.

For my solution a "Weekday Only" option would work and I think get the most bang for the buck for all users (and probably easier to add "Weekday" "Weekend" instead of flipping to "multiple dates" - for the initial fix).

Big picture I am not a fan of the "starting at hour" method. If the show is preempted then it may not start until say 1:15pm and I will miss it entirely. Though showing the hours is quick in the list, a range would be nice - "anytime between 9am and 4pm". In theory the "first time it runs that day" would also work (a better idea when the ShowID is not available and you choose FIRST RUN). Far off idea.
