Video Playback Pauses when a Background Recording Begins

I've been using SageTV for about 2.5 years and I really like it. I'm using the PVR-350 as my capture card and I've dealt with the end of file bug and other various freeze ups, but its never been enough to get rid of Sage all together.

I've been usinig an old 2 dot something version of Sage and recently upgraded to 6.4. Since the upgrade, I've seen various little inconsistent things that seem to be on par with previous performance if not slightly better. However there is one consistent behavior that has popped up and I wonder if anyone else has dealt with it regardless of card or hardware config.

When I'm watching a previously recorded show and Sage needs to start a new recording in the background the video playback acts like it is paused. I can get playback to resume by pushing pause and then play again or pushing ff/rw etc. Playback immediately resumes as normal.

I know that it only happens when a new recording starts because the system time is always right on the hour or half hour and I even figured out that if a 2 hour long show is being recorded in the background the behavior wont happen until it needs to switch to a new recording.

Any recommendations are appreciated.
