HD MTS Playback Issue

I can record and playback BBC HD perfectly on my system, which is only a 1.7ghz Duo. CPU usage ticks over at about 70-80% usage, but 100% perfect Image and Audio.

However, if I take an HD MTS file from my HD Camcorder, recorded in the lowest quality format (1440x1080i) and try and play it back the video stutters as if it can't handle it (sound is fine in 5.1 DD). If I took at the CPU usage during play back it is only 45%, not even that of the recorded HD from the TV.

The MTS files play fine via an HD Extender I have, just not on the PC client.

Tried a few codecs without improvement.

A few seconds of MTS can be downloaded here as an example;

Any ideas? I was really hoping to add my home videos to my sagetv library.

Actually, it's even more odd.

I only get thiis jerky playback issue with the Core codec using Sage. If I use Windows Media player to play the files, it works fine using Core. But when media player plays the files it seems to cause the core codec to start another process which appears in the toolbar while playing (Haali Matroska Splitter). This seem to stop the DD passthough working to my amp, but the video plays fine. Playing it with Sage does not seem to activate the Haali Splitter, I get DD passthrough ok but video is jerky. As I said before, this is only with the H264 files from my camcorder, not that over DVB???

If I use the Arc codec, it plays both Camcorder and DVB H264 perfectly, both DD audio and video. However, the Arc codec does something else the Core does not, which makes it equally unusable. Whenever it start to play any DVB H264, be it live or recorded, it pauses for 20-30 seconds before it starts to play. Once it's going it's fine. But play a recording or change to a HD channel and you wait 30 secs to start.

If I could only get either;
1) the Arc codec to play staight away as the Core does, with no delay
or
2) the Core codec to play the camcorder H264 without jerky playback

I would be fine!?
