Does that share require a logon? Does the user the Server (or client) is running as have permission to access those shares?

Do they actually have those paranthesis in the paths, I've never tried that (didn't know it was legal).

You running the service, is it running as the same user?

Does the import directory path "\\File-Server\Data (Z)\Movies (or Music or Photos)" really have parenthesis in it, or is that just an example?

Does the user the service runs under have access to the share? Is it LocalSystem (which can't access network shares)?

The windows user (Tv Server) has access to net work share (Data (Z))

The paths would be like as follows

\\File-Server\Data (Z)\Movies\AVI's

\\File-Server\Data (Z)\Movies\Dvd's

\\File-Server\Data (Z)\Photo's

Just to test Stranger89's theory.... why not create a new share using ONLY alphanumeric characters and have sage use that share. If it works, then you know the problem is with using non alphanumeric characters in the sharename (parenthesis and single quote). If it still fails, then the problem is most likely authorization related.

eg, \\File-Server\DataZ\Movies\AVIs

My understanding is that sage does not use the OS's underlying libraries for cifs access, but rather it uses a portable library (jcifs??). If the library may not support non-alphanumeric characters in the share. All of this is theory

The service by default runs under the LocalSystem account, this account can't access network shares. If you need to access network shares, you need to configure the service to run as a user which has access to the shares.

That doesn't answer the question. The service can run as a different user. Open the SageTV Service Control app and see what is says for "Run Service As User: ", if it says LocalSystem you need to change it to a user that has access to the share.

Take a \ out, I'm pretty sure you only need 1. And make sure that user has access to the shares.
