I use Vista Business as a server without any problems. I didn't get solid HD feeds to clients until it got a Q6600. (2G RAM.) Then again, I didn't tweak the OS at all. I'm also running UAC and it *is* a little quirky. Before Vista, I was running XP Professional and didn't have any issues either. The only reason I "upgraded" is because I just had a free (legal) license for Vista Business and decided to see what Vista was like. I'm thinking of trying one of the server versions next (2003, 2008, or WHS--leaning toward WHS.)

That's because the studios have not yet implemented the HDCP on the disks. If/when they do XP does not have a secure path for the video/audio stream and would be shut down (at least without some sort of special software to break the protection). It will also prevent playback on any system that doesn't have HDCP on the graphics card and monitor.
