HD-PVR and the dreaded client machine
So, I got this HD-PVR and it works great on the server. On the client I got an error until I installed the Arcsoft stuff. Now I can see a picture, but there is no sound. What audio codec do I need installed?
The client won't do live TV. I have to record a few seconds and then watch it. Any clues about this one? |

Use AC3 filter that comes with Sage. Or anything other than default. Your HD performance on your client is totally related to the horsepower your client has for both the processor and video card. The higher end the video card is (hardware acceleration) the slower the CPU can be. The worse the video card the more powerful the processor has to be. What are you running?

You need to set the playback buffer for the HDPVR to something larger than it currently is. This has been discussed. Set it to something like 4000 or 5000 (this is in milliseconds) then when watching live tv, Sage will "buffer up" 4-5 seconds before it begins playback.

Something like this in your properties file:
videoframe/local_encoding_to_playback_delay=2000 videoframe/time_behind_live_to_disable_fast_forward=6000 videoframe/time_behind_live_to_disable_skip_forward=4000
