I have both Mac's and PCs. I just got a Windows based Sage server installed works fine. I have a Mac laptop and bought the mac client. I get an error when connecting to the Windows server?

What does the error say?

Are you using the same SageTV version on the server and client? Are the firewall ports open?

As Opus4 has kindly indicated, you haven't given enough info to help figure out what the problem is.

However, in the vein of, here's my experience--here's my experience: it should work fine. I have my Sage server set up on a Windows XP computer and Sage Client set up on an OS X G4 Mac Mini. I haven't experienced any connection problems.

How about some more info?

This may seem like a silly question, and please excuse me if I'm asking something too basic, but you did set your server to allow connections from clients--i.e., in the Sage properties, right?

Also, have a look at Opus4's post in the FAQ: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...197#post107197

By the way, I'm still not 100% sure about the Client and Server versions having to be the same. I'm running different versions, and it does seem to work. I think though that to be sure, you'd better stick to using the same versions.

Steven
