SageTranscoder and PAFF...

Over time, I've kept an eye on how Placeshifter/MVP Extender have moved forward with being able to display R5000 recordings on a standard-def screen. For some time now, it has been able to play, but with significant tearing and de-compress fragments, for the majority of the 6.4.x cycle. Best I can tell, it looks like behaviors of the incomplete PAFF interlacing support in the ffmpeg build used to do the Sage Transcoder.... So, to my question:

With the later builds of ffmpeg implementing this capability, might we all hope to see a refresh of the Sage Transcoder to newer ffmpeg sources which can handle PAFF correctly in the upcoming versions of SageTV?

I'd say that it would be a safe bet that the next version of SageTVTranscoder will be based on a current ffmpeg build. The big question is when it will be released. I suspect a release of a new SageTVTranscoder and SageTVPlayer may be linked to the SageTV Demux Beta running at the moment.
