multiple 250s possible on Win2k server?
I cannot for the life of me get a 2nd 250 installed into my Win2k server. I had both tuners working on WinXP Pro. I had them working at one point on a Win2k server.
Now, zilch. The sign that things aren't going to work is when the system wants to be rebooted to complete installation of the 2nd card. That tells me that a BSOD is waiting for me around the corner. Any tips? A particular version of the drivers that is known to work in Win2k server for multiple cards? This is an ABIT IS7-E. The other machine that caused problems was a Dell Precision 420. Any help or attempts at help much appreciated. Regards, Stuart |

Maybe I should download the source code for Win2k and debug the kernel.

I think the answer is no: not possible, at least with default services running in Win2k server. The one time I succeeded in installing two cards, I had disable lots of the services because I was short on memory. Unfortunately I didn't write down which ones. The next time I tried to do the same thing, I must have gone a little too far b/c there were some issues with installing software.
I just installed XP Pro on the same machine and was able to install two 250s right away. I'm doubling up on my license so now I have to decide whether to keep attacking Win2k server or buy another license for XP. I swear... I'm beginning to go crazy. |

Couldn't get it working with Win2k server... but Win2k3 server works fine.
Now I wonder whether even win2k pro would have worked... but it's all academic now as I have what I need. |
