USB-UIRT dying weekly.

I am having a problem where USB-UIRT just dies and SageTV no longer can use it to send channel commands to my Direct TV box. It weekly so far because it just dies on friday and I am forced to reboot the HTPC to get it back working again.


I been using SageTV for quite awhile now and it start doing this about a month ago but I installed the SageTV beta before then so I am wondering if SageTV beta is the problem or not but I am sure it was fine for awhile on the beta then it start doing this.


I cannot determine if it the UIRT or SageTV end that causing this issue because after a reboot everything is fine until next friday and it would just stop working but SageTV will keep recording on the wrong channel.

Anyone experience similar issue and were you able to troubleshoot it and solve the problem?

Reroute all the USBUIRT cabling, the USB cord and the leads for any IR transmitters. Pay special attention to high voltage devices and RF/EMI generating devices specifically power supplys.

Pretty common issue but the solution is normally cheap/easy.
