After some days use I'm happy with the ComSkip alignment. Using PDVD 8.x. Haven't had much problems with hangs or so. I usually only use right arrow on keyboard to jump when comercial starts. And if I want to go to another location, I click with mouse pointer on timeline. And those two actions seems to work without problems.
But the timeline 'forgetting' to update itself I've seen several times. Like reported in posts above. If I get the time I'll try to use the built in SageTV decoder and compare to PDVD 8.x usage.

would this have any effect on placeshifter? Audio seems to be ahead of the video by an amount that lessens as the show progresses. several seconds at the start. ~250-300kbps data rates.

The new Demuxer doesn't seem to work properly with the smooth ff/rew in SageMC. After fast forwarding, the spinning circle of death comes up, the video freezes, and the audio gets stuck in a 2-3 second loop.

Seems to be working fine with HDHR recordings. Skipping forwards/back seems just a hair slower now, but if that's the price for accurate seeking I'm perfectly OK with that. Finally, Comskipping works the way it's supposed to.

It's a VERY welcome relief here!
Working great. I can now use comskip_playback again and jump forward/back and have them be right on.

2 things:
I switched back to the default STV and it works almost prefectly there. sometimes after a skip or jump there is about a 2second lag for the sound. even using the SageMC STV things seem to be working much better than when I first started using it. I'm not sure why.

Here is my experience.
Loss of sound from time to time. I am having now stuttering from time. I did not had that before. I am using SageMC with Commercial Skipping. Windows XP Sp2, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB memory, Nvidia 8600 Nvidia Pure Video driver. |

For h.264 hd-pvr recordings played back with Arcsoft decoders this works great. Playback and seeking work perfectly. However, I get a complete crash periodically.

I just installed the new .ax and am watching CSI: NY recorded via an HDHR-QAM. Skipping around is fine (no crashes), commercial skipping is accurate, and I have no AV sync issues. The only thing I see that may be a slight bug, is when you skip fwd or back, the audio plays a few milliseconds before the video appears (but sync *is* fine...its just a video delay). Early days yet, but looks promising.

I noticed an issue with skipping tonight, I had recorded a football game using a HDHR and the skipping was pretty accurate, however after every skip the audio would drop out and then a couple of seconds later the video would freeze. I could unfreeze it only by press ff and then play again, then the audio and video would come back normally.

...Crash. Live TV was skipping, went to do a RW/FF to clear it up and I got a crash in MS C++ SageTV.exe faulting application. Went back to the old .ax

The beta demux does not work well with the FFDSHOW audio decoder. Dish Network H.264 + beta demux + cyberlink 8 H.264 + ffdshow (AC3) = terrible mess. The audio actually plays fine, but the video freezes, then plays real fast, then freezes, etc. Even with all the freezing and fast play of the video, the audio ends up ahead of the video. It eventually locks up after attempting to seek several times.
I prefer FFDSHOW for audio because I can modify the audio mixer to copy stereo signals to my side and rear speakers, and with 5.1 I copy the rears to the sides or vice versa. Note that this testing with the Sage beta demux was done with and without the modified FFDSHOW mixer and I get the same result with both. Also, the beta demux doesn't work with CoreAVC. I'm sticking with the release demux for now. |

With a little registry tweaking you can get the Cyberlink Decoder to apply DPLII to the audio.

You can't copy but DPL II isn't "simulated" surround it's a matrix surround decoding:
http://www.dolby.com/consumer/techno...ologic_II.html "Dolby Pro Logic II detects the directional cues that occur naturally in stereo content and uses these elements to create a five-channel surround sound playback experience." |

Not working correctly for me. I have only tested HD shows so far but it the timeline is behind the video. So when I go to fast forward through the commercial, I have to do a lot of skipping. Rolled back to old ax file.

You're in luck, I've got my HTPC up
HKCU\Software\Cyberlink\Common\CLAud\ There should be a SageTV (or SageTVClient) key. I've got the following DWORDS: AU_DRC_MODE = 1 AuDsChExpand = 2 AuDsExpandMode = 2 I think those are the important ones, but what I really did was setup the audio decoder in Graphedit, and then copied the settings from the graphedit key to the SageTVClient key. |
