audiobitrate always 384 kb/s

I have used the following line to set customized recording quality, but the audio encoding bit rate seems to stuck always with 384 kb/s no matter what the audiobitrate has been set.

mc/python2_encoding/test\ -\ 320\ min=videobitrate\=1280000|width\=720|height\=480|audiobitrate\=224|vbr\=1|peakvideobitrate\=1760000|outputstreamtype\=10

(all in one line)

How can I change the audio bitrate to a lower value?

Also, can I ask Sage to encode audio in the Dolby instead of mp2. It is currently in mp2. When I burned the recording into DVD compatible format, TMPGEng alway suggest me to transcode it to Dolby for better compatibility, which takes a long time to do so. It would be great if Sage can encode the Dolby format in the first place.

Maybe the use of "mc/python2_encoding..." instead of "mmc/python2_encoding..." is a typo?

You haven't said what tuner you are using. Perhaps that isn't a valid recording rate for your tuner.

Thank you for your reply. Indeed, mc is a typo (cut & paste error). My card is Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600.

Thanks for pointing that out that maybe the tuner card is the issue, since I do be able to change video rate and saw the effect but not the audio bitrate. Maybe this is the limitation of that card?

Along the same though, maybe it is not possible to ask SageTV to produce Dolby encoded audio unless my card can do so?

If the analog tuner on the card can change the video rate, but not the audio rate, then I would check with SageTV support. They could check with the developers to see what the limits on the card's usage are.

OK, I called hauppauge. The answer I got is that the card has ONLY one bitrate allowed for audio, which is, no surprise, 384 kb/s. And it only support mpeg 2 on audio as well.

So, I just have to transcode the audio part later if I want to change the bit rate.
