Mac Placeshifter takes two tries to connect...always

I'm running 6.4.8 all-around and it always takes two attempts to connect to the Server when using Placeshifter on my Macbook on a local LAN. The first attempt brings up a black window with the spinning thingie and then stops. I close that window and connect again and it works. Happens every time I launch Placeshifter from scratch. The Clients I have (all on PC's) never have this issue.

This is not a huge deal but a bit puzzling. Anyone else experience this?
