Starting to test Comskip with h.264 support

I am ready to test comskip with h.264 support but need some test files.
Preferably various recordings with aac, ac3 and both.
Is there someone that can upload some test recordings to my ftp server?
Preferably recordings of at least 10 minutes, possibly also with logo.
PM me for the upload details.

Sorry, I can't yet help out as I haven't bought the HD-PVR yet.

I do want to thank you for the efforts though; getting ComSkip going is, at this point, almost critical to buying that tuner. I'm happy to see development on H.264.

Just wanted you to know your work is appreciated.

Sweet! I can send over a bunch of files for ya...just PM me the info. HD of varying resolutions, SD, whatever. How can I tell if they're AAC, AC3, etc?

EDIT: Sorry, I'll PM you per your instructions. <grin>

Getting clips with AC3 audio might be trouble because they haven't released drivers that support it yet but if you PM Brent he may be able to help you out

Anybody with Dish Network and an R5000HD has H.264+AC3 in a TS container. Should be pretty close to the HD-PVR ones. I have plenty, though they are pretty large...

100Mbyte would be nice. (use TSSplitter or ant other file splitter)

Thanks to those that provided some samples.
h.264 video and AAC or MPEG2 audio is working on files from NZ and Sweden
Need to do some more robustness testing.
Is there someone with a very fast CPU that is willing to try a test version in a couple of days?

Done,

Review is not yet working, debugwindow is.
You should see video and audio
Could you check if logo is found and processing restarts correctly at the start after finding the logo
Would be interested to receive recordings that crash comskip or that do not show audio or video.

Sure. Quad-Core 2.66 in my server, plenty of processor to spare...

Check your PM...

Used TSCutter since it was already installed.

Status:
It has now been working a few hours with Hidalgo (10 Gb h.264 AAC file) (I've send you two clips). 20% processed. Still running. Logo found but V=-1S. That means no sound right?

V=-1S during the first processing could also imply the sound is decoded one or more frames after the video.
Is the green sound graph in the debugwindow flat or does it show some sound?
Does the log file say "AAC sound detected"?
You can view the log file while processing is ongoing.

Now 44% done.
I've posted here the log file and a screen shot.

The screen shot shows audio decoding is going very well.
I was expecting the sound level to be too low but is seems OK.
Also the video seems ok but judging to the messages in the console window the h264 packetizer is having some problems.
Could you have a look at the load of your two cores?
Level?, equally spread?

Average total CPU load around 50-60%. The load is split 1/3 - 2/3.

I'll throw my name if you want another tester. I have a lot (all my shows are converted to h.264 after recording) of material to test with, and plenty of processor.

I'd rather not start with testing converted h.264 but concentrate on directly recorded h.264

Hi Erik
The processing of Hidalgo has finished. 12 hours it took but the result is very good. I'm now working on another movie.

Can it handle h.264 in a mpeg-ps container? tried before but comskip crashed.

Good work so far!

Rasmus
