viewing future scheduled recordings
Will the new Studio software let me change the presentation of this screen? This current format by day and time isn't vey useful for me. I would like to see a list of shows I have scheduled in order by date and time. If you are familiar with TiVo, it would look like their ToDo List.

I agree, I much prefered the way 1.4.1 did this. There is a lot of wasted time scrolling through 2 weeks of schedule if you forget to change the recording quality when you first add it.

I third that. I also prefer the Tivo/Sage 1.4.x way of displaying upcoming recordings

I agree as well. All they have to do is remove the blank time between recordings. Also I would like to see all of the upcoming recordings. Not just the recordings for the next few days like 1.4 does.

Or at least have the arrows jump between programs instead of by time.

What I would like to see is wrap around scrolling once you reach the last scheduled recording, so it will wrap back to the top. (submitted) - Andy |

I would like the "recording list" feature but also like the current way it is done when I want to see the current day in a time block format. Maybe the options button could toggle between the two view like it does in other screens.

We all agree that there is a better way to display this information. The main question is "Is Studio robust enough to be able to change how data is retrieved and displayed?"

I gotta say, I love the new way of showing the schedule.

You're one of the few then...
Well that isn't QUITE fair. If you use Intelligent Recording it isn't too bad, as there isn't normally a TON of dead (aka non-recording) time in the list. For those of us that do NOT use intelligent recording (at least not until you can separate Favorites from IR shows in the Sage Recordings for ease of finding your show...) then the list is mainly 'dead air'. So scrolling through it is an INCREDIBLE pain in the butt to see the 5 or so things that will be recorded in the next few days. Also, my channel up/down does not scroll a page at a time in the list either... Just 30 minutes (like up/down arrow) does. This makes looking, say, 24 hours ahead take FOREVER. I think this may be because I have channel up/down mapped to +/- keys (I think, need to check) though... Haven't looked. Jason Quote:

Oh, and yes I agree. I'd prefer a sequental list to the current layout.

The new inline categorization style of listing the recordings _really_ helps, since the categories are in alphabetical order. Shows are very easy to find, though some scrolling is still involved. So, the long list of IR shows isn't as bad as it once was. I also want an option to set aside only XX GB for IR shows. Quote:
After saying all that... the v1.4 scheduled recording list was certainly more compact. I don't really care if I know which tuner will record a show... simply show me the list. - Andy |

so is there a way to view it the way 1.4 did? I just got the 2.0 trial and this might make me stay at 1.4

While viewing the recording schedule, bring up the options menu with the yellow button, right mouse button, or esc key. Then select the "Schedule Display: ..." button which will toggle between the two styles.
Edit: Darn I write too slow. |
