PVR 350 DVD playback

Quick question, can I play dvds and video files (not necessarily decoded by PVR 350) onto a tv screen using the PVR 350 output? i.e watch a dvd movie on the tv from the computer that has the PVR 350, with the PVR 350 outputting to the TV.
OR
Does the PVR 350 only output from sage etc and I would need another video card to output anything like vid files or the desktop?
TIA
Patrick

You cannot get DVD's or the Windows desktop thru the 350 TV-out.

Ok so then the cheaper option would be an X-Card and maybe later add a second tuner. From what I can gather this will enable me to have tv out plus play DVD's ? Correct?
It seems also like a superior output compared to just a standard graphics TV out.
Thanks so much for all the help.

So is there no other way to use hardware decoding except with their media player?
