How often does the time server sync with sage?
Been running into some time problems. Most of the time my shows record about 2-3 minutes ahead of schedule where it cuts out the end of the show.

I tried the atomic clock but it still gets out of sync. I need something that will sync like every half hour.

I have the SageTV option "Sync System Clock with SageTV Server" enabled and have stopped using my atomic clock program, since it simply conflicted with SageTV's time by about a second. Are you still using your atomic clock program? Doesn't it have an option regarding how often it updates? Does it's time conflict with that option in SageTV
I wonder what source SageTV uses to sync the clock... is the source the same for everyone? And like you asked, how often is it done? I usually pad my favorites, but even then the amount a show runs into any padding (if any at all) seems to vary by day & channel. - Andy |

No I don't run atomic clock anymore as it didn't keep up with the syncs either.
I do have a problem of my shows coming rite after each other but on different channels so I can't pad them. edit-Found this over at the snapstream forums http://discuss2.snapstream.com/vb/sh...highlight=Time Last edited by AJ Bertelson; 02-09-2004 at 10:13 PM. |

NTP should calculate and compensate for drift. That said, serious drift is probably a sign of a hardware problem.
